Minor Policy

Vermont is one of the only states in our country where it is completely legal to be tattooed under the age of 18 as long as parental consent is given.  Our studio policy pertaining to minors who want to get tattooed and pierced are as follows:

All minors, whether for tattooing or piercing services, MUST be accompanied in person by at least one parent or legal guardian.  The parent or legal guardian must provide their ID at the time of the service so we can make a copy of it, as well as sign the appropriate consent form you are given upon arrival.  Per law, we are not required to need an ID from the minor however if they have an ID/permit/license they may bring it and provide it to us with their parent/guardian's ID.  Birth Certificates/legal documentation are not required by law nor by our studio policy.

It is the responsible decision of the parent or guardian to make this choice with their minor to receive tattooing or piercing services at this studio, however we reserve the right to refuse any service we feel uncomfortable with providing.  Vermont State statutes do not specify a minimum age, so we reserve the right to use our best judgement.  We also believe that the decision to get tattooed or pierced is an educated and family decision to make, between parent and minor.  There is often personal significance for wanting to be tattooed or pierced prior to turning 18, therefore we trust that families have these discussions before contacting our studio.

The most common acceptable minor age that we have tattooed or pierced is 16 or 17 years old, and more often than not it is part of a family group or getting their first tattoo alongside their parent.  As tattooing and piercing remain a steadfast tradition, we welcome all to experience an environment that is safe and where lasting memories are often made!
